FAQ

Unlike industry in ground or other DIY termite traps these are designed to adapt to wherever termites are on your property, the same termite control trap can be installed as perimeter defence system or used to eliminate termite colonies whether they are in your buildings, walls, fences, posts, stumps etc.  The unique advantage is that the actual trap is that it can be placed in ground or on ground depending on

The box is made up of solar resistant UPVC tough plastic base, lid, window and plug.

The base: As well as being designed to be placed on the ground, the base has pushouts on the sides which can be removed when the trap is placed in ground to allow termites easy access from the sides as well as the open grid and hole in the base. The base also has large pushouts on the sides and ends to allow for insertion of flexible tubing to create an in ground interconnected system if required.

The lid: has a pushout for the window to be inserted in, an inspection and treatment access opening and is hinged to attach to the base.

The window: is a clear 25mm window for monitoring termite activity.

The Plug: A black 35mm plug for inspections without removing the lid, and for bait application.

Once the control traps are installed it only takes only a few minutes a month to monitor for activity. When treatment is required it’s as simple as preparing the easy to use professional strength environmentally safe registered non-toxic bait which is safe for humans and deadly to termites!

Termite control boxes are designed to be installed in the ground or on the ground. Normal industry spacings around the perimeter of a building of 2 to 3 metre spaced intervals around the perimeter of buildings are recommended.

They can also be used individually to target live termite activity with the advantage that once installed the treatment bait can be applied immediately to begin the eradication process.

or can be used individually for specific target areas. The traps contain attractant wood to lure termites. The termites enter the trap underneath or through the sides of the boxes to access the wood inside. They

announce their presence by mudding up the viewing window to block out any light, making it very easy for you to know when they’re there.

The traps are designed and manufactured to deal with Australian subterranean termites. The trap takes a piece of specially prepared timber bait located in the base, as well as a piece of timber inserted into the inspection window in the lid for detecting termite activity.

Every Property Needs Different Numbers of Termite Traps. So That We Can Help You Best Please Click the Button Below and

An average of 2 to 3 metres is the recommended spacing when installing the traps as a perimeter defence system. The traps can also be placed up to 5 metres from the walls or foundations.

It is important to note that CSIRO field research also shows that MOISTURE is the primary the primary attractant termites are drawn to. Always identify these points around your buildings and ensure that traps are placed in these areas for maximum protection.

Termiteninja traps are designed for DIY installation. An easy step by step installation guide allows for anyone to do install monitor and treat termites easily. We also provide our personal phone support should you need it.  You’ll be pleasantly surprised at just how easy it is.

For a start you get to own the system unlike some industry systems that will only let you lease the traps as well as having to sign an expensive annual contract for bi-monthly inspections of the traps. And if termites are found, further expenses are incurred for the treatment.

Once installed the termiteninja system only requires you to take a few minutes each monthlv to check the monitoring windows for activity. If termites are present it is as simple as preparing a bait box and a sachet of the termite treatment supplied to start the termite eradication process. You can manage the baiting safely and easily, when required and not have to rely on a pest controller to do it for you.

Aa well as saving you thousands of dollars using your own DIY system. You can install, monitor and treat your own DIY termite system using the same strength treatment as the professionals, at a fraction of the cost.

The APVMA approved and registered insect growth regulator bait is formulated to be ingested by termites, in doing so it removes their ability to produce Chitin, used to harden their new exoskeletons.

Consuming the bait stops their new shells and their mandibles from hardening. Because the termites are unable to chew the sicken and die.  The cannibalistic nature of termites and as well as their attention to keeping their galleries pristine to prevent diseases from occurring in their very humid conditions means that the healthy ones consume the dead and sick termites ensuring the infection is passed on domino style throughout the colony This constant cross infection works its way right through the colony and back to kill the queen, and destroy the colony.

A viable termite colony can consist of several million subterranean timber eating termites. The colony is entirely dependent on the queen to produce in excess of 1000 eggs daily to replace and to grow the colony.  In ideal conditions queen termites can survive for decades. Along with her consorts, attendants and soldiers which make up 10% of the colony, they depend entirely on the 90% of workers to be fed.

The treatment is formulated to only affect invertebrates. Because it an insect growth regulator it will have no toxic or hazardous effect on humans or animals. The only exceptions being fish and birds, but if it enters their drinking water. Therefore it is important dispose of the unused bait safely, and not near waterways or bird feeders.

The termiteninja system is designed to allow the bait to be inserted directly into the infected trap in its powder form by either pouring it directly into the affected trap. However it recommended that adding water to the bait and then installing a control box on top of the infected box and placing the wet bait is less disruptive to to the termites. Weekly monitoring of the baited trap allows you to assess if more bait is required or if feeding has ceased indicating the nest has been eradicated.  An indicator of colony eradication is a change in colour of termite bodies form creamy white to dirty opaque yellow.

Once termite have been eradicated the traps can easily cleaned out. And reset with either, your own timber bait replacement or you can purchase pre-prepared material directly from us . The trap are constructed from strong UPVC materials and will last for many years
